Alicia Silverstone is eager to bring Cher Horowitz back to the spotlight after 30 years.
After hearing that a series based on her iconic 1995 film Clueless is being developed at Peacock, the Golden Globe-nominated actress expressed her enthusiasm about the project on Today, though details were still under wraps.
“I’m thrilled about it,” she remarked. “Our aim is to respect what fans adore about Clueless and Cher.”

Silverstone added, “We plan to stay true to the original while also adding new and exciting elements. I’m optimistic about our ability to achieve this, although it’s still early days.”
The movie Clueless, directed and penned by Amy Heckerling and inspired by Jane Austen’s novel Emma, featured Silverstone as Cher Horowitz, a rich teen from Beverly Hills. Cher’s well-intentioned meddling includes playing matchmaker for two teachers and transforming a new student’s look, all while managing her personal romantic dilemmas.
Deadline announced in April that Peacock is working on a TV series adaptation with Silverstone set to return as Cher and serve as an executive producer. The series is being crafted by the Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of Fake Empire, along with Dollface creator Jordan Weiss. Amy Heckerling and Robert Lawrence, who produced the original film, are also on board as executive producers. The project is a collaboration between CBS Studios and Universal Television, part of Universal Studio Group.
Silverstone was warmly received by fans when she revived her role as Cher in a Super Bowl commercial for Rakuten two years ago.

It already had a TV series that was on for 3 years and it sucked. I’m sure this one will be even worse.
