Grab a lifeline; Baywatch is making a grand return to Europe and other regions.
The revamped version of the classic 1989 series by Fox has secured a spot on Amazon Prime Video in multiple territories including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Benelux, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, Canada, Latin America, and India.
These international streaming agreements were facilitated by Fremantle, following Sky’s acquisition of Baywatch rights in the UK and Ireland.
Originally concluding 25 years ago after an 11-season run, Baywatch is set to premiere its revival in January next year with a fresh batch of 12 episodes. Prime Video will also offer access to the entire original Baywatch series.

The new Baywatch series features Stephen Amell stepping into the role of Hobie Buchannon. The cast includes Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke, and Brooks Nader as Selene.
Among the recurring roles, David Chokachi revives his character Cody Madison, while Livvy Dunne plays Grace. Additionally, Erika Eleniak will make a guest appearance, reprising her role as Shauni McClain.

This landmark agreement is a testament to the enduring appeal and anticipation surrounding one of the industry’s most iconic shows.”
The series is under the creative direction of Matt Nix (Burn Notice), who serves as the showrunner and executive producer. Joining him in the executive production team are McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto, and Mike Horowitz. The opening episode of the series is directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels). While FOX Entertainment Global manages all domestic distribution rights, Fremantle oversees all international sales. The original Baywatch, which skyrocketed to fame with David Hasselhoff, aired from 1989 to 2001, starting on NBC and later reaching global audiences through syndication.
