While Eugene Levy has been globetrotting for his show The Reluctant Traveler, he remains open to the idea of diving back into the world of Schitt’s Creek.
Although his son and series co-creator/co-star Dan Levy has hinted at having a preliminary idea for a new chapter of their acclaimed Canadian series, it seems Eugene has not been briefed on it yet.
“If he mentioned he has a kernel of an idea for a reboot, he hasn’t shared it with me. I’m not privy to his thoughts as I don’t use Instagram,” he humorously noted on Today‘s ‘Girl Code’.

Eugene continued, “We’ve always expressed our love for the cast, the series, and we would be thrilled to reunite and create more content. However, no concrete ideas have been proposed yet. If we do proceed, it must match the high standards we set before. Otherwise, it wouldn’t make sense.”
Regarding a possible Schitt’s Creek film, Eugene remarked, “Wow, that’s an interesting suggestion. I’m quite intrigued by that. Never say never.”
Since the series concluded its six-year run in 2020, fans have been eager for a revival. In an interview on Watch What Happens Live in July, Dan teased a potential reboot by mentioning his “kernel of an idea.”
“It’s constantly on my mind,” Dan admitted. “I adore the series and I’m committed to not letting the fans or the show down. It would be easy to just take the money and run with any idea, but I care too much about it. I’m waiting for the right idea. And then, perhaps, we’ll move forward.”
Following its final episode in 2020, the show brought Eugene and Dan Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Eugene, and Outstanding Supporting Actor for Dan, who also received accolades in the writing and directing categories for the last season.
