‘South Park’ Admits “South Park Sucks Now” As Melania Haunts Trump In Special Halloween Episode

Just two episodes into its unexpected 28th season, South Park is already making fun of itself in response to the backlash from its highly political 27th season.

During the special Halloween episode titled ‘The Woman in the Hat’, Stan declares that “South Park is terrible now” after his father is laid off from the USGS due to a government shutdown, which forces their family to move into his grandfather’s nursing home.

“Everybody sees it. South Park is awful now, and it’s all this political nonsense,” he remarks sarcastically, referring to the show’s contentious Season 27 on Comedy Central.

In an effort to improve South Park, the kids develop a “South Park Sucks Now” cryptocurrency meme, which Stan hopes will help them escape the nursing home.

The episode reaches its peak with a séance at the White House, conducted by Pam Bondi, who is humorously depicted with poop on her nose, and attended by Brendan Carr and Kristi Noem. They gather after Donald Trump starts seeing apparitions of Melania, who mysteriously appears in corners wearing her hat.

Donald Trump is haunted by Melania in ‘South Park’.

According to Stephen Miller, the ghostly Melania emerged with a “vengeful fury” after the demolition of the White House’s East Wing. Meanwhile, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren are called in to explore the strange occurrences.

The episode concludes with the arrest of Kyle’s cousin, Kyle, during the séance, where he tries to win Don Jr.’s endorsement to sell the cryptocurrency, openly admitting that it’s a fraudulent scheme.

You have to love this show. It spoofs a spoof of a government. Meta as in before it became a parent company for FB.

$1.5 Billion to keep a supposedly terrible show while the company who paid that bill is undergoing layoffs… either that is in poor taste or intentionally provocative.
