‘South Park’ To Take More Jabs At Donald Trump As Season 27, Episode 3 Previews “Sickofancy” & Return Of Towelie Traveling To Militarized DC

South Park has consistently poked fun at Donald Trump since the premiere of their 27th season on Comedy Central.

The promo for Episode 3, named “Sickofance,” was released, featuring the comeback of Towelie as they head to Washington D.C. in a heavily militarized setting.

“Wow! Washington D.C.,” Towelie exclaims upon gazing out of a bus window, catching sight of the iconic structures reflected on the glass.

The depiction of D.C. displays a fortified state, with National Guard members patrolling the region, armed soldiers, and military tanks moving past major buildings like the White House.

“This seems like the perfect place for a towel,” Towelie remarks.

Towelie, brought to life by Vernohn Chatman and characterized as a marijuana-loving towel, initially appeared in Season 5, Episode 8.

The reintroduction of Towelie occurs as South Park steadily focuses its satire on Donald Trump and his officials. The show’s second episode of Season 27, titled “Got A Nut,” spoofed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem amid ICE raids targeting undocumented immigrants nationwide.

Noem expressed her displeasure with her portrayal in the popular animated series during an interview on Glenn Beck’s podcast, stating, “It never ends, but it’s so lazy, to mock women and their appearances. Only the liberals and the extremists resort to this. If they wanted to criticize my performance, that would be fair. But they opt for trivial attacks instead.”

The ongoing critical portrayal of Donald Trump’s administration by South Park has contributed to an increase in viewership. Deadline recently reported that the series’ second episode attracted 6.2 million viewers globally on multiple platforms including Comedy Central and Paramount+ during its initial three days, slightly surpassing the nearly 6 million viewers of the premiere episode.

The latest episode unfolds as Donald Trump authorizes the National Guard in D.C., claiming the city was “descending into utter chaos,” despite statistics showing a 26% decrease in violent crime.

South Park Season 27, Episode 3 is scheduled to broadcast on Wednesday, August 19 at 10 p.m. ET on Comedy Central.
