SNL UK Season 2: ‘Big Boys’ Star Freddie Meredith Joins Cast!

Saturday Night Live UK is excited to welcome Such Brave Girls and Big Boys star Freddie Meredith to its lineup for the eagerly anticipated second season.

Recently making a splash with his first solo performance at the Edinburgh Fringe, titled Need a Light?, which earned him a Best Newcomer Award nomination, Meredith is also known for his comedic talents.

He joins an impressive group of performers including Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

Describing his new role as a “no brainer,” Meredith expressed his excitement about joining SNL UK, which he dubbed “The most iconic comedy show.” He added, “This will undoubtedly shape everything I do in my career from here on out, and I’m thrilled for the journey ahead.”

It was announced last week that Jeff Goldblum will host the premiere of SNL UK‘s second season, which airs this Saturday (September 12) on Sky, featuring CMAT as the musical guest. The season will continue with new episodes weekly until October 24, followed by a midseason break, with plans to return in early 2027.

Season 1 saw appearances by hosts such as Tina Fey, Hannah Waddingham, and Nicola Coughlan.

SNL UK is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK team and Broadway Video, with Lorne Michaels as the executive producer and James Longman as the lead producer.

At the recent Edinburgh Television Festival, Sky’s unscripted chief Phil Edgar-Jones shared insights into the future of the British version of the iconic American sketch show. He confidently stated that the production is “here for the long haul,” and expressed pride in the team’s success, especially in disproving the initial skeptics from social media and the TV industry who doubted the show’s potential.
