“Saturday Night Live UK” Season 2 Premiere Date Announced!

SNL is set to make its comeback in the UK on September 12.

Sky has revealed that the upcoming second season of Saturday Night Live UK will consist of six episodes, followed by a hiatus, with plans to resume in early 2027.

Owned by Comcast, Sky is currently in the final stages of acquiring regulatory approval to take over ITV. They confirmed that the original ensemble cast will be returning for the second season.

The returning cast includes Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young.

Details on guest hosts for the new season are still under wraps. Notable hosts from the first season include Tina Fey, Hannah Waddingham, and Nicola Coughlan.

Laura Claxton has risen to the role of co-head writer alongside the continuing head writer Jonno Johnson. Liz Clare will be returning as the director. The team also welcomes Heather MacVean as the new costume designer and Sinead Oldnall, who will lead the UK talent team as the director of onscreen talent.

SNL UK is a production of Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK team and Broadway Video, with Lorne Michaels as the executive producer. James Longman holds the position of lead producer.

UTAS UK Productions is managed by Helen Kruger Bratt, the Managing Director. Andy Charles Smith is the lead producer for UTAS UK Productions, with Shanna Baynard serving as the executive in charge of production, alongside Hannah Peddar, the production executive.

SNL UK was greenlit by Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky’s executive director of unscripted originals. Other executives involved in overseeing the series include Alex Moody, head of comedy commissioning at Sky, and Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and chief content officer for Sky.
