The Miami Dolphins have decided to release experienced running back Raheem Mostert, according to an announcement from his representative, Brett Tessler, on social media platforms.
“It appears that Raheem Mostert will be suiting up for a different team next season,” Tessler stated. “We are extremely grateful for his tenure at the Miami Dolphins, and this transition allows the team to bring in younger talent while offering him opportunities to chase a championship elsewhere.”
Last season, Mostert, who will soon turn 33, played in 13 games, rushing 85 times for 278 yards and scoring two touchdowns. His 2023 season was particularly remarkable, as he rushed for a career-best 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns, earning a spot in the Pro Bowl.
This strategic move will allow the Dolphins to free up $2.9 million in salary cap space.
