In a significant update for Buffalo Bills fans, the team has confirmed a four-year contract extension for standout wide receiver Khalil Shakir. According to NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the deal is valued at up to $60.2 million, with $32 million guaranteed at the time of signing.
As the 2025 season approached, Shakir was in the final year of his initial rookie contract. With this extension, he is now secured through the 2028 season. This move underscores the Bills’ commitment to maintaining a strong receiving corps, particularly given Shakir’s impressive performance as quarterback Josh Allen’s primary target in 2024.
During the 2024 regular season, Shakir made a notable impact with 76 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns. His playoff performance was equally impressive, where he successfully caught 18 of his 20 targets across three games, accumulating 174 yards.

The agreement was skillfully negotiated by Sam Mirza and Derek Hawkridge, Co-Directors of Football at Equity Sports, along with their CEO, Chris Cabott. The news was shared by Ian Rapoport via a tweet, which also linked to the Twitter accounts involved in the negotiation.
This extension not only ensures Shakir remains a vital part of the Bills’ offensive strategy but also boosts the team’s morale as they aim for their first Super Bowl win. Despite a tough loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in this year’s AFC Championship, the Bills are optimistic about their future prospects, with Shakir being a key player in their quest for victory.
