In the third quarter of the Armed Forces Bowl, Navy quarterback Blake Horvath’s stunning 95-yard touchdown run against the Oklahoma Sooners did more than equalize the game.
It was a monumental dash as well.
According to the Navy Athletics account on X (formerly Twitter), Horvath’s run is now the longest in the history of Navy’s football program.

This remarkable run surpassed the previous record of 93 yards, which was set by former Midshipmen running back Johnny Sai during a 1963 game against Duke Blue Devils.
Considering Navy’s long-standing commitment to a run-heavy, triple option offense, many players have had the chance to challenge Sai’s record over the years.
Yet, it was Horvath, a semifinalist for the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year in college football, who achieved this milestone during a crucial moment in the Armed Forces Bowl. He later scored a six-yard touchdown, his second of the game, putting Navy ahead in the fourth quarter.
This lead proved decisive, with Navy securing a narrow 21-20 victory.
