‘XO, Kitty’ Renewed For Season 3 By Netflix, Set For First Summer Episode After Season 2 Cliffhanger

EXCLUSIVE: The journey continues for Kitty in South Korea! Netflix has given the green light for a third season of the hit YA comedy series XO, Kitty. The series, a spinoff from the beloved To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before movie series, will see more romantic escapades following its Valentine’s Day renewal announcement. (Check out the announcement video below.) This news arrives shortly after the premiere of Season 2 on January 16.

Upon hearing the news of the show’s renewal, XO, Kitty showrunner Jessica O’Toole shared a teaser about the upcoming season. She mentioned how Season 3 will resolve the suspenseful cliffhanger from Season 2, where Kitty decided to spend the summer touring with Min Ho (played by Sang Heon Lee) and his family. Like the previous seasons, the new season will continue to follow Kitty’s experiences at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), focusing on her third semester, after a brief summer adventure.

“I’m thrilled to return to Seoul for another season with our amazing cast and crew. If you thought the drama peaked during junior year at KISS, just wait,” O’Toole commented. “Although we left fans with a major cliffhanger, I can assure you that Season 3 will be worth the wait. It includes our very first summer episode and promises plenty of romance, friendship, adventures, and yes, lots of kissing.”

Season 2 of XO, Kitty quickly climbed to the #2 spot on Netflix’s English TV List with 14.2 million views, narrowly surpassing the opening week views of Netflix’s drama The Night Agent Season 2 (13.9M views). Furthermore, the launch of Season 2 brought Season 1 back into the Top 10 at No. 5 with 3.8 million views, while the original 2018 To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film resurfaced at No. 6 on the English films list with 3.1 million views the following week.
