American Society Of Cinematographers Will Honor Robert Yeoman With Lifetime Achievement Award At 40th Annual Gala

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the ASC Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography Gala will pay tribute to Robert Yeoman, a frequent collaborator of Wes Anderson.

The American Society of Cinematographers revealed on Wednesday that Yeoman will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant and visionary contributions. The ceremony is scheduled for March 8, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills and will be streamed worldwide.

Yeoman first made a name for himself with Gus Van Sant’s Drugstore Cowboy in 1989. He has since worked extensively with Wes Anderson on films like Bottle Rocket (1996), Rushmore (1998), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Moonrise Kingdom (2012), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The French Dispatch (2021), and Asteroid City (2023).

Other notable films shot by Yeoman include Dogma (1999), Red Eye (2005), Whip It (2009), Get Him to the Greek (2010), Bridesmaids (2011), The Heat (2013), Love & Mercy (2014), Spy (2015), Ghostbusters (2016), and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018).

ASC President Mandy Walker praised Yeoman, stating, “Bob’s cinematography is instantly recognizable. His shots are meticulously crafted, radiating warmth and enhancing storytelling. He has significantly raised the bar in cinematography with his longstanding partnerships and unique visual approach, influencing a wide range of filmmakers.”

Alongside Yeoman’s recognition, M. David Mullen (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Westworld, The Good Wife) will receive the Career Achievement in Television Award; Cynthia Pusheck (Brothers & Sisters, The Bold Type, Our Flag Means Death) will be presented with the President’s Award; Stephen Pizzello, editor-in-chief of American Cinematographer Magazine, will be honored with an Award of Distinction for his editorial innovation and impact. Additionally, Kodak will be acknowledged with the Curtis Clark Technology Award for its creative and cultural contributions.
