Sharon Osbourne Thinks Someone “Set Her Up” For ‘The Talk’ Exit, Claims Ozzy’s Posthumous Memoir: “What A Bunch Of Phoneys”

Four years following her abrupt departure from The Talk, Sharon Osbourne’s late spouse is posthumously criticizing CBS.

In his memoir Last Rites, released after his death at 76 in July, Ozzy Osbourne asserts that “they forced Sharon out” of the show due to a televised disagreement with her co-hosts concerning her support for Piers Morgan.

“The individual she believes orchestrated her exit — and I won’t mention names, because I don’t want to reignite that mess — definitely knew what they were up to,” Ozzy penned, as per Entertainment Weekly. “And Sharon, when backed into a corner, will fight back.”

Following her confrontation with Sheryl Underwood about Morgan’s comments on Meghan Markle, which were viewed as racist, CBS initiated a probe into the incident and paused the program. Sharon Osbourne left the show a few weeks later.

“They ousted Sharon,” Ozzy claimed. “Just weeks before, when Sharon was in the hospital battling Covid, these same people had taken to Instagram to post, ‘Mrs. O, we love you.’ Such hypocrites.”

Ozzy further lamented that “the worst part” was the misperception of Sharon as racist because of her association with Morgan. “I can assure you, my wife is not racist. It contradicts everything she stands for. Anyone who really knows her understands that,” he insisted.

“Her colleagues on the show were aware of this,” Ozzy added. “Being branded that way was utterly unjust. Once you’re labeled, television careers can end. They understood the stakes when they targeted her.”

Though Sharon was deeply affected for a while, Ozzy admired her for eventually letting go and moving past the incident without dwelling on it.

“She’s an exceptional woman, my wife,” Ozzy noted. “As for The Talk, it eventually got what it deserved. It was finally cancelled.”

The Talk announced its conclusion last November, ending a 15-year span with a final episode the following month. Originated by Sara Gilbert, the daytime talk show premiered in 2010, featuring both Gilbert and Osbourne as part of the initial hosting panel.
