LIV Golf might be switching its television network by 2025.
As reported by the Sports Business Journal, discussions are underway with Fox for a potential broadcast agreement for the upcoming season. It remains unclear if this deal would involve airing tournaments on Fox or its sports-focused sister channel, FS1.
It has been highlighted that Scott O’Neil, who is set to take over as CEO and commissioner of LIV Golf from Greg Norman in 2025, recently played in the Crypto.com Showdown pro-am event in Las Vegas. He was joined by Alan Gold, who leads sports media at CAA Evolution, and Jordan Bazant, the EVP of business development and media at Fox Sports.
Over the last two years, the league’s matches have been televised on the CW network, attracting modest viewership figures. The absence of a substantial television contract has often been cited as a major weakness for LIV Golf.
The fourth season of LIV Golf is set to commence in February in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The initial four tournaments will take place in various international locations, with the first event in the U.S. not expected until April, just before the Masters. The season is planned to conclude in August, ahead of the football season.
