LIV Golf Lands Multi-Year TV Deal, Will Be Shown Live This Year

Fox Networks to Broadcast Saudi-Backed Golf League

LIV Golf has entered into a multi-year agreement with Fox Sports, ensuring that all its tournament rounds will be broadcast live across various channels within the Fox network. This deal marks a significant media strategy for the golf league, supported by Saudi investments.

The arrangement between LIV Golf and Fox Sports in the United States involves a direct rights fee, differing from the previous revenue-sharing model used with the CW Network over the past two years. Additionally, LIV Golf will maintain its existing broadcast team.

Production responsibilities and associated costs will continue to be managed by LIV Golf itself.

Reports from Sports Business Journal earlier indicated that negotiations for this partnership were underway.

In their announcement, LIV Golf revealed that more than half of the league’s games would be televised on Fox or FS1, though they did not specify the distribution of tournament rounds or specific events. Some rounds will also be shown on FS2, Fox Business, or through the Fox Sports App.

Moreover, all rounds will be available for streaming on the LIV Golf+ app, though this service will require a paid subscription in the United States. Exact details regarding the subscription have yet to be released.

The 2023 season of LIV Golf kicks off with an event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 6-8, followed closely by another tournament in Adelaide, Australia, just a week later. This 14-event schedule underscores the league’s expansive and international approach to the sport.
