Hannah Einbinder Calls To Abolish ICE After Renee Good Killing: “None Of Us Are Safe”

Amid a surge of national protest, Hannah Einbinder leverages her influence to challenge the actions of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and encourages others to join the outcry.

In response to the tragic death of Renee Good in Minneapolis, the four-time Golden Globe nominee declared, “none of us are safe” as long as ICE continues its operations.

“The cycle of imperial violence has returned to our doorstep. The funding and permissions granted to harm Palestinians through IDF, who also train ICE, predict our fate here in the U.S. They saw they could escape accountability in Flint, Michigan, thus proceeded to compromise water quality in impoverished areas with data centers. After Hawaii’s lands were seized following wildfires, developers in Los Angeles felt emboldened to replicate such actions. Now, if this monstrous, Nazi-like killer JONATHAN ROSS, who executed RENEE NICOLE GOOD while she was observing an ICE operation, goes unpunished? Then truly, none of us are safe,” Einbinder expressed on Instagram.

“To all artists and influencers, I urge you to use your platforms tonight and forever until ICE is dismantled. Every day matters. We cannot continue as if nothing is wrong—doing so is collectively signing our own death warrants,” Einbinder added. “May those ICE agents rot in hell.”

Renee Nicole Good, 37, the victim of Wednesday’s shooting, was a U.S. citizen from Twin Cities and a mother to a six-year-old, according to the StarTribune.

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, stated, “ICE officers in Minneapolis were executing targeted enforcement when rioters obstructed their operations. One assailant used her vehicle as a weapon in an attempt to murder law enforcement officers—an act of domestic terrorism.”

“An ICE officer, in fear for his life and the safety of his colleagues and the public, fired in defense,” she continued.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem mentioned that the agents were involved in a law enforcement action due to adverse weather conditions in Minneapolis. She explained, “They were attempting to free their vehicle when a woman assaulted them and others, trying to run them over with her vehicle.”

In a press briefing, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey criticized the Trump administration’s narrative of self-defense. “Having reviewed the footage myself, I can assert confidently, that is complete nonsense. This was a case of an agent who grossly misused his power, leading to a fatal outcome.” Frey also demanded that ICE “get the hell out of Minneapolis.”

Police Chief Brian O’Hara of Minneapolis noted that the incident is still under investigation. Both he and Mayor Frey called for peace in the city as protests erupted at the scene of the incident in south Minneapolis.
