Former Buccaneer & Cineflix Execs Launch Drama Outfit High Road Entertainment

BREAKING NEWS: Richard Tulk-Hart, previously co-CEO of Buccaneer, and James Durie, ex-Head of Scripted TV at Cineflix, are stepping up their game with a new venture. They are launching High Road Entertainment, an innovative co-production and sales advisory firm focusing on the television drama sector.

High Road Entertainment is already making waves with several projects in development, including the crime series Antiparos, set in Greece, in collaboration with Tanweer Productions, and a comedic drama titled Shinjuku Sugar Fox, which is being produced with Just John Films.

With a rich history in drama, Tulk-Hart and Durie have collaborated on numerous series such as So Long, Marianne, The Doll Factory, and Whitstable Pearl after their initial stint together at Miramax.

Among their many executive producer roles, their credits include popular shows like Sunny Nights, The Walsh Sisters, and Marcella.

Originally founded last summer as Volteo Media by Tulk-Hart, High Road Entertainment has rebranded with Durie joining as co-CEO. They aim to guide European scripted producers through the intricacies of financing and distribution while also cultivating their own portfolio of drama projects.

“In today’s fragmented market, there’s definitely room for a more dynamic, flexible approach to transforming scripts into screen productions,” stated the duo. “We are poised to connect the dots, having already done so successfully with several projects. Despite the challenges facing our industry, our goal is to smoothly guide key players through the process, ensuring each show has the optimal chance of reaching the screen.”

The leadership of High Road Entertainment will be present at the Series Mania forum in Lille next week. They are expected to introduce a new series, with more details to be revealed during the event.
