Elisha Cuthbert has returned to the screen after a four-year break with a new romantic drama series on Prime Video.
The star of Every Year After recently shared her reasons for avoiding film sets in recent years, until she landed the role of Sue Florek in the adaptation of Carley Fortune’s Every Summer After series. All eight episodes are currently available for streaming.
“After our second child was born, I realized something—I had worked throughout the first four years of our first child’s life, and it was incredibly tough to balance being a mom and my career,” she said in an interview on Today. “With our second, I just didn’t want to miss out on any moments, and I didn’t feel like being on set.”
Cuthbert continued, “I really needed to be at home with my children, and I cherished every minute of it. Now that they are in school full time, I feel like I have the space, energy, and emotional capacity to step away and return to work.”
