Carmelo Anthony is set to join NBC Sports and Peacock as a studio analyst, enhancing the network’s renewed NBA broadcasts.

During his appearance on NBC Sports’ Kentucky Derby coverage, the 10-time NBA All-Star shared that he will be participating in studio analysis one or more evenings each week starting in October, focusing on the 2025-’26 NBA season all the way through the playoffs.

“This fall marks the start of a new chapter @NBAonNBC,” Anthony tweeted, along with a preview video of his upcoming role.

With the NBA returning to NBC this fall after more than two decades, Anthony reflected on how the network’s past broadcasts influenced his passion for basketball.

“Growing up watching the NBA on NBC really shaped my love for basketball,” he commented. “I’m excited to be joining the NBC Sports team. I’ve always aimed to use my platform to expand the game, and I look forward to offering viewers a new perspective as we introduce a new era of NBA broadcasting and content.”

During the Saturday broadcast, Anthony expressed his enthusiasm about “building a team again and returning to a team dynamic” after the announcement that Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller will join him as NBA on NBC game analysts, with Mike Tirico and Noah Eagle also on board as play-by-play commentators.

“Discussing the strategy, understanding the game, and exploring the reasons behind players’ actions on the court are crucial,” Anthony added. “We need to talk more about the game within the game.”

Anthony, originally picked by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2003 NBA Draft, concluded his 19-season NBA career in 2022 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Since retiring, he has continued to talk about the league on his podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony.
