Pacers Sports & Entertainment revealed on Thursday morning that the Indiana Fever will have a new, cutting-edge practice facility by 2027, dedicated solely to the franchise.
Costing $78 million and spanning 108,000 square feet, the facility will be conveniently located within walking distance from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the home arena for both the Pacers and the Fever.
“This move signifies a new level of dedication and commitment to providing our players with the best resources to compete,” said Kelly Krauskopf, Fever’s president of basketball operations. “It reflects our investment in women and women’s sports. Our current facilities are no longer sufficient due to the growth of the league, and we aim to remain forward-thinking and proactive.”
This state-of-the-art performance center will be the fifth of its kind in the WNBA. Other teams like the Las Vegas Aces, Seattle Storm, and Phoenix Mercury already enjoy similar facilities, and the Chicago Sky’s center is still under construction. Such facilities are becoming more prevalent as the league enjoys increased popularity and financial success.
Particularly for the Fever, star player Caitlin Clark has played a significant role in boosting the team’s profile, drawing large crowds to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse to watch her play.
By 2027, Clark and her teammates will have access to one of the premier performance centers in the league, enhancing their training and game preparation experiences.
