Authorities have apprehended an individual in connection with the case of the missing Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savanna Guthrie.
According to reports from sources including ABC News, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, in collaboration with the FBI, has taken a person into custody for questioning regarding the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie.
As CNN has reported, this individual is currently in southern Tucson, though no formal arrests have been executed as of yet.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department provided an update via X, stating, “During a routine traffic stop just south of Tucson, our deputies detained a suspect. This individual is now under interrogation as part of the ongoing investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s case. We will release more details when available.”

Furthermore, the Sheriff’s Department indicated that they currently have no plans to hold a press conference.
Recent developments in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie followed the release of security footage showing a masked figure at her residence shortly before she vanished.
On a social media post dated Monday, February 9, “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie reached out to the public for assistance.
“This is a critical moment, and we urgently need your support,” expressed Savannah Guthrie, as the search for her mother continues to extend into yet another agonizing week.
Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, was reported missing around noon on February 1, having been last seen the previous night at around 9 pm when a family member dropped her off at her home in the Tucson area.
In a recent video posted online, Savannah Guthrie addressed her 1.6 million Instagram followers, saying: “My mother was abducted, and we are clueless about her whereabouts. I am pleading for your help, not just in prayers but in keeping an eye out. No matter how far you are from Tucson, if you notice anything unusual, please inform the authorities.”
