Apple TV has greenlit a second season of the internationally acclaimed series Carême, which draws its inspiration from the eventful life of Antonin Carême, a pioneer in the culinary world during the era of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Directed by Martin Bourboulon, known for The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan, and featuring the talents of César laureate Benjamin Voisin (The Stranger, Lost Illusions), this French-language drama series is set to start its next round of shooting in Paris shortly.
The cast sees the return of Jérémie Rénier as Talleyrand, Napoleon’s key diplomat, and Alice Da Luz as the skilled chef Agathe Guichardet. Filming for the new season is scheduled to commence next week in Paris.
The announcement of the upcoming season follows closely after Carême received a nomination for a drama award at the International Emmys, with the nominees revealed last week.

The inaugural season of Carême debuted on Apple TV in April 2025, earning critical acclaim both domestically and internationally.
The series traces the remarkable journey of Antonin Carême (played by Voisin), who ascended from modest beginnings in Paris to become a celebrated chef in Napoleonic Europe. While his primary aspiration is to achieve global culinary fame, his remarkable skills draw the interest of influential political figures who recruit him for espionage. Amidst his climb from poverty, Carême faces a crossroads: pursue revenge or attain everything he desires—fame, fortune, and romance—but at potentially tremendous personal costs.
Based on Ian Kelly’s biographical work ‘Carême: Cooking for Kings: The Life of the First Celebrity Chef’, the series is a creation of Kelly and Davide Serino (Mussolini: Son of the Century). It is produced by Vanessa van Zuylen (Eiffel) with VVZ Production and Dominique Farrugia with Shine Fiction (Banijay France) for Apple TV.
Carême is filmed at various iconic locations around Paris, including the Tuileries Palace, the Château de Fontainebleau, Chateau de Chantilly, and the Chateau de Compiègne.
