Netflix has announced that Lady Gaga will make a guest appearance in the upcoming second season of Wednesday, filmed in Ireland in just one day. This exciting news was shared during Netflix’s annual Tudum event, where they also unveiled the first six minutes of the new season’s opening episode.
During the event, Lady Gaga showcased a new original track that will be part of the season’s musical lineup. She has spent time in Los Angeles gearing up for the event with several rehearsals.
The popular series starring Jenna Ortega will release its first part on August 6, and the second part will debut on September 3.
Developed by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday centers on the character Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy, where she hones her budding psychic skills. Throughout the first season, she unravels a series of murders linked to her parents, Morticia (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (portrayed by Luis Guzmán), who first crossed paths at the academy 15 years prior.
Watch on Deadline
Lady Gaga’s role in Wednesday follows her recent portrayal of Harley Quinn in Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux, opposite Joaquin Phoenix. She has also been acclaimed for her performances in recent films like House of Gucci (2021) and A Star Is Born (2018).
