Times are tough for everyone connected with the New York Jets, but especially so for Joe Douglas, the general manager who was just fired following a disappointing 3-8 season start, and Aaron Rodgers, who, according to sources, owner Woody Johnson had considered benching only four games into the season.
Amid the chaos at the Jets’ headquarters, there’s speculation that 40-year-old Rodgers may retire at season’s end or perhaps look for another team where he can bring along his close friends. However, this move would likely upset Jets receiver Davante Adams more than anyone else. Adams, who had transferred from Las Vegas to New York mid-season, came specifically to play with Rodgers again.
A recent video from last Sunday’s 28-27 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts highlights what might be Adams’s growing displeasure with his deteriorating situation in New York and his former teammate at the Packers.
Instead of passing to an open Adams, Rodgers chose to throw left; the pass was intercepted. A clearly upset Adams could be seen stamping his feet in frustration.
From bad to worse?
