Lisa Barlow, a notable personality from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, shared her thoughts at the Bravo Fan Fest in Miami about why she often seems to be the target of her co-stars.
“I find it really draining, and I was hoping that after everything we went through last season in Bermuda, we’d come together more this season,” Barlow expressed to Deadline. “But it kicked off intensely right from the start. It feels like the dynamics in Salt Lake are always evolving, but it’s frustrating when they attack me based on old internet comments from season one. I believe I’m a loyal friend to them, and I’d love to see when they have reciprocated that.”
DEADLINE: This season introduces Bronwyn Newport, a new housewife you were friends with before the show. Now with the cameras rolling, why the friction?

BARLOW: The tension with Bronwyn has nothing to do with being on the show. It seems like she’s chosen to consistently have issues with me. I always defend her and have been there for her, even in ways that aren’t shown on TV. It baffles me that she has so many problems with me—it almost feels like she thinks attacking me will increase her screen time.
DEADLINE: Before the group trip, Justin Rose discarded your tequila brand, Vida Tequila. During the trip, Todd, Bronwyn’s husband, was caught on a hot mic criticizing Vida. What’s your take on these attacks on your business?
BARLOW: It feels like pure envy because my husband John and I own everything; we don’t answer to anyone else. We started Vida before we even got married. Instead of acknowledging it as a reputable, award-winning tequila, some choose to diminish it, which I think reflects more about their character than anything else.

DEADLINE: This season, you’ve patched things up with Heather Gay, yet now you’re clashing with Whitney Rose after she criticized you on a podcast. Why do you think that is?
BARLOW: Whitney made some truly vile remarks about me on that podcast. It wasn’t the ‘villain’ comment that upset me. I confronted her directly when I heard it, telling her not to drag me into her storyline. I think she was upset that she got called out for lying at Meredith’s jewelry event last year. Our friendship feels very one-sided, which is surprising given how we left things after the Season 4 reunion.
DEADLINE: Finally, what are your thoughts on the husbands getting involved in the show’s drama?
BARLOW: John generally stays out of it. He sees RHOSLC as more about my friendships and relationships. The viewers didn’t see everything—Justin confronted me, and John intervened, which led to a heated exchange. Whitney and Justin seemed to come with an agenda to falsely accuse me of something I’d never do.
