The Real Housewives of Potomac celebrity Wendy Osefo recently addressed the public after being arrested on charges of fraud earlier this month.
“Despite everything, GOD remains steadfast,” the former academic and now television star expressed on Instagram. “I deeply appreciate the overwhelming support, love, and prayers directed towards me and, most importantly, my family during these challenging times. We are immensely thankful.”
In her post, which includes a stylish photo of herself with Koryn Hawthorne’s song “Look At God” in the background, she added: “Don’t forget to watch @bravotv tonight for a new episode of #RHOP.”
Wendy and her spouse, Eddie Osefo, were charged and detained under numerous fraud allegations on October 9—specifically, 16 charges including seven felonies for purportedly filing false and/or misleading insurance claims. She also faces a misdemeanor for allegedly providing false information to a police officer. According to TMZ, which first broke the news, the couple reported a burglary at their home while they were on vacation last April, claiming theft of jewelry and designer bags. However, authorities later spotted Wendy wearing a diamond ring she had reported as stolen. They had filed for an insurance payout claiming a $450,000 loss in property. The Osefos spent one night in jail in Westminster, Md. before posting a combined bail of $100,000.

Following the scandal, Bravo decided to postpone the premiere of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, a spin-off that was set to prominently feature Osefo and her family. Originally scheduled for October 14, it will now air a week later on October 21, showcasing The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas instead, with Osefo’s episode postponed indefinitely.
Wife Swap portrays stars from The Real Housewives series stepping into the lives of everyday mothers.
Osefo is scheduled to appear at BravoCon next month in Las Vegas, though it’s currently uncertain if she will still participate.
The Real Housewives of Potomac kicked off its 10th season with an extended premiere on October 5. Osefo, who joined the cast in 2020, stars alongside Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Stacey Rusch, and Keiarna Stewart. The season also introduces new faces Tia Glover and Angel Massie, and welcomes back Jassi Rideaux and Monique Samuels.
