Friends Rally with GoFundMe for Eric Dane’s Daughters After His ALS Death

In the wake of Eric Dane’s passing on Thursday, a wave of support has emerged for his family as they process their loss.

Close ones of Dane, along with his wife Rebecca Gayheart, have initiated a GoFundMe campaign to gather financial support for their two teenage daughters, Billie and Georgie. This move comes after Dane’s recent demise at the age of 53, following a diagnosis of ALS. The fundraising goal is set at $250,000, and as of Friday evening, contributions have already topped $75,000.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of Eric Dane who valiantly fought ALS. He leaves behind his loving wife Rebecca, and his two teenage daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were his pride and joy,” states the GoFundMe page.

“After his diagnosis, Eric dedicated himself as an advocate for the ALS community, leveraging his public stature and influence to champion the cause and bring attention to the plight of others suffering from this cruel disease. Despite his health deteriorating more rapidly than anticipated, his friends have set up this GoFundMe to ensure his daughters’ future needs are met.”

They added, “Every donation, big or small, will aid in securing a stable future during this extremely tough time and beyond for Eric’s beloved daughters. We appreciate your help.”

Eric Dane, famed for his roles in Euphoria and Grey’s Anatomy, was announced deceased by his family on Thursday, after publicizing his battle with ALS in April last year.

“It is with profound grief we inform you that Eric Dane passed away on Thursday afternoon after a courageous fight with ALS,” his family expressed in a message. “He was surrounded by close friends, his devoted wife, and his daughters Billie and Georgia, who were his entire world until his last moments.”
