The NBA community is still buzzing from Luka Doncic’s move to the Los Angeles Lakers this past weekend, yet the action continues unabated. And what better way to refocus on the game than a headline showdown between the top two teams in the Eastern Conference?
The Boston Celtics visited Cleveland to face Donovan Mitchell and the leading Cavaliers Tuesday evening. Mitchell quickly made a statement, throwing down what might be the dunk of the year.
Just minutes into the game, at the 4:30 mark, Mitchell executed a slick dribble to weave through Boston’s Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, carving a direct route to the basket.
As Celtics’ towering figure Kristaps Porzingis moved to block him, Mitchell pulled back his arm and ferociously slammed the ball over the seven-footer, electrifying the crowd at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

On Tuesday, the Cavaliers aim to extend their impressive 40-9 record, while the Celtics (35-15) look to close the gap, currently positioned as the East’s No. 2 seed. So far, Boston and Cleveland have each won one game in their regular season encounters. After their Tuesday battle, they will meet again on February 28.
Mitchell’s powerful dunk is sure to be remembered.
