Acapulco Tops Imagen Awards, Brownsville Bred & Will Trent Win Big – See Full Winners List!

The Apple TV comedy series Acapulco emerged as the top honoree at the 41st Imagen Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton and celebrated with a gala on Friday evening. The show secured six awards on this prestigious night.

In other notable wins, the film Brownsville Bred from Viva Pictures grabbed the Best Feature Film award, while ABC’s Will Trent and Scrubs received the awards for best drama and comedy series, respectively. The Imagen Awards spotlight the contributions and achievements of Latino individuals in the entertainment industry, across various media including film, television, documentaries, and music. Acapulco, in its fourth and final season on Apple TV, led the night with 13 nominations and walked away with accolades for director Oscar Almengor, lead actor Enrique Arrizon (who tied with Stephanie Beatriz of Twisted Metal), supporting roles by Eugenio Derbez and Vanesa Bauche, and Best Music Supervision for Film or Television. Apple TV and the team behind Acapulco were also celebrated with the Creative Achievement Award.

Awards for lead actors in TV dramas were given to Manuel Garcia-Rulfo for Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer and Amirah Vahn for Fox’s Doc. Supporting actor accolades went to Michael Peña for Peacock’s All Her Fault and Arienne Mandi for NBC’s Chicago P.D.

Esteemed actor, filmmaker, and producer Andy Garcia was honored with the Imagen Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Helen Hernandez, the founder and president of the Imagen Foundation, praised Garcia for his exceptional career and his continuous effort to uplift Latino talent in Hollywood.

The President’s Award was presented to Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis during the event.
