A familiar face from Blue Bloods is headed to Boston, as teased by Donnie Wahlberg, hinting at a special appearance on Boston Blue.
Will Estes is set to bring his character Jamie Reagan from Blue Bloods to an episode of the CBS spin-off, following Wahlberg’s sneak peek post on Instagram, which included a photo with his on-screen sibling.
“Great to have you (back) in the family! Jamie Reagan! Also known as Will Estes!” Wahlberg captioned the image on his Instagram Story, which also showed co-stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Marcus Scribner, and Mika Amonsen.
After the 2024 season finale of Blue Bloods, Wahlberg continued to portray Det. Danny Reagan on Boston Blue, which premiered the previous October. The character Danny’s son Sean was recast with Amonsen, taking over from Andrew Terraciano who previously played him in the original series.
Other stars from Blue Bloods have also made appearances in the spin-off, such as Bridget Moynahan playing Danny’s sister Erin, Len Cariou as Danny’s grandfather Henry Reagan, and Will Hochman as Danny’s nephew Joe Hill.
Watch on Deadline
Boston Blue was promptly renewed for a second season in December and is slated to return on October 9. The series continues to track Wahlberg’s Danny as he transitions from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department.
