NEW clips added: Television stations across Los Angeles are broadcasting continuous live coverage of the raging wildfires. The broadcasts reveal bewildering and poignant scenes, with many describing the situation as a “battlefield” and “end of days.”
A particularly moving moment was captured live on KTLA-TV when reporter Annie Rose encountered a man in tears on a ravaged street in Altadena. His home was ablaze. “I thought we were safe here,” he explained. “They evacuated us this morning, and I tried to stay back and protect my home, but it was impossible.” He then shared a framed photograph of a soldier he had managed to save. “My mom insisted on saving her father’s portrait,” he added emotionally. See the video above.
On Wednesday morning, ABC7 aired a shocking aerial view of the Eaton fire’s destruction in Altadena:
In another incident, KCAL reporter Jasmine Viel and cameraman John Schreiber paused their reporting to assist a woman trying to save her chickens from her burning property:
An ABC7 team also filmed residents of Altadena as they filled garbage cans with water from a pool to fight the flames threatening their neighbor’s home:
Meanwhile, KTLA reporter Chip Yost was broadcasting live when he came across homes engulfed in flames in Pasadena:
Another extraordinary scene occurred on Tuesday when a massive bulldozer was used to clear a path through a jam of abandoned luxury cars as panicked residents evacuated Palisades Drive. The scene was captured live:
During a live phone conversation on KTLA-TV, retired Fire Captain Bob Goldman emphasized the critical need for residents to be ready to evacuate immediately. “It’s been decades since we’ve had winds like this,” he remarked. “The sight of that bulldozer moving cars was shocking, but it underscores the urgency of having an evacuation plan.”
Earlier, KTLA’s Gene Kang was interviewing locals when he spoke to Steve Guttenberg, who was frustrated with the vehicles obstructing the escape routes. Guttenberg, initially unrecognized by Kang, stressed the importance of leaving car keys in the ignition to allow others to move the vehicles if necessary to clear the way for emergency services.

Shortly after, the bulldozer was deployed to clear the road, enabling firefighters and their equipment to reach the endangered homes. As the bulldozer pushed aside the cars, a building could be seen burning in the background.
The ongoing wildfire crisis continues to be covered live by major L.A. network affiliates like KCBS, KNBC, and KABC, alongside local stations such as PBS SoCal, KTLA, KCAL, KTTV, and others. Governor Gavin Newsom is on site to assess the damage as extremely strong winds are forecasted to continue throughout the night.
