Robin Wright On Moving To The U.K. & Not Looking Back: “America Is A S—show”

Robin Wright has followed in the footsteps of several celebrities, including Ellen DeGeneres, in relocating from the U.S. to the picturesque British countryside.

In a recent interview with The Times U.K., the actress and director, who has been nominated for eight Emmys, shared her experiences adapting to life in the U.K., where she has been residing and working for the past several years.

Describing the current state of the U.S., she bluntly stated, “America is a mess,” avoiding specifics about political figures or President Donald Trump.

Of her life in England, she noted, “There’s a real sense of freedom here. The people are incredibly warm. Here, life is lived fully—people aren’t just stuck in traffic, stressed on phone calls, or multitasking with a sandwich. That’s the norm back in the U.S. Everything there is about hurry, competing, and speed.”

Highlighting the slower pace of life, the former House of Cards star enjoys waking up to birds chirping, a contrast to her previous mornings in Los Angeles, which were often disrupted by the sound of neighborhood construction.

“Everyone is building a mansion, and I’m over it—I cherish the tranquility. Plus, I’ve found my soulmate here,” Wright revealed, mentioning her relationship with architect Henry Smith, whom she met in a local pub.

Although the The Princess Bride actress is set to star in and direct several episodes of Prime Video’s new psychological/erotic thriller The Girlfriend, she plans to take a break from work and relocate to a quiet seaside town in England.

“It feels liberating to finally be settled,” she expressed. “To stop searching, striving, and settling for 60% of what you desire.”

It is what she says it is. Anyone saying otherwise, doesn’t have money (tbh me) and has to endure this chaos until hopefully, the next admin.
