Deadline’s Sound & Screen Television Tunes Up For 2025 Edition With ‘Severance’, ‘The Last Of Us’, ‘Squid Game’, ‘LOTR’ & More

Deadline has announced the roster for Sound & Screen Television, the prestigious annual event celebrating TV music, set to occur at UCLA’s Royce Hall on Wednesday, May 7.

The event will feature 11 television series and spotlight composers and their music from some of the year’s most buzzworthy shows. These talents will perform their compositions live, accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra, for an audience of Academy and guild voters.

This year’s impressive lineup of composers includes Bear McCreary from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen from The Boys, both representing Prime Video. From HBO|Max, we have Mick Giacchino of The Penguin and Gustavo Santaolalla and David Fleming from The Last of Us. Representing Apple TV+ are Theodore Shapiro from Severance and Tom Howe from Shrinking. Dimitri Smith and James Poyser will represent Sony Pictures Television & Peacock with Long Bright River. For Netflix, the event will feature Jung Jaeil from Squid Game and Alex Seaver from Arcane. Additionally, there will be virtual appearances by Siddhartha Khosla from Paradise for Hulu and Volker Bertelmann from The Day of the Jackal for Peacock.

The event starts with an exclusive reception for guild members at 5 p.m. PT, followed by the opening of doors at 6 p.m. The performances are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Deadline will cover the panel discussions in full the following day and will launch a streaming site for the event on Friday, May 9.

Sound & Screen Television marks the latest addition to Deadline’s series of events for the awards season, following the 27-show Contenders Television showcase on April 5-6 and the Contenders Television: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety, a virtual livestream event happening this Saturday.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Society of Composers & Lyricists, ASCAP, SESAC, BMI, the Composers Diversity Collective, and Global Music Rights. Saratoga Spring Water is the official product partner for the event.
