The entertainment industry mourns the loss of Isiah Whitlock Jr., who passed away at the age of 71.
Whitlock Jr. was celebrated for his memorable performances in The Wire, Veep, Your Honor, and The Residence. He was particularly revered for his work in several of Spike Lee’s films, such as Da 5 Bloods and BlacKkKlansman.

Spike Lee expressed his sorrow on social media, sharing a photograph of them together with the words, “Today I Learned Of The Passing Of My Dear Beloved Brother ISIAH WHITLOCK. GOD BLESS.”
Lee also posted a film clip from 25th Hour showcasing Whitlock Jr.’s famous line, “SHIEEEEEETTT.”
Lee added, “My Deepest Condolences To The Family Of Isiah Whitlock. May He Rest In Power.”

Whitlock’s manager, Brian Liebman, paid his respects by describing him as a “brilliant actor and even better person,” and stated, “May his memory forever be a blessing. Our hearts are shattered. He will be tremendously missed.”
