Whenever I head out for a grocery run with my 15-year-old son, our shopping cart ends up with several unplanned items. On a recent trip to ALDI, my son spotted a new item he was eager to try: Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Tuscan Inspired Chicken Flatbread Pizza. He was intrigued and promptly asked, “Can we get this, Mom?” Naturally, I agreed.
ALDI Mama Cozzi’s Tuscan Inspired Chicken Flatbread Pizza
- Price: $4.99 for a 19.3-ounce pizza
- Why I Love It: Among the various Mama Cozzi pizzas, this Tuscan-inspired variant ranks highly for me. The mix of chicken, spinach, roasted garlic, and tomatoes atop a crispy crust is delightful.
Why I’m a Fan of Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen Tuscan Inspired Chicken Flatbread Pizza
I’ve often shared my enthusiasm for Mama Cozzi’s Pizza Kitchen’s range, from their easy-to-bake pizza dough to their cheesy breadsticks. Their large take-and-bake pepperoni pizzas have been a hit at numerous gatherings, including family parties and sleepovers.
While pepperoni is usually our go-to, this new Tuscan Inspired Chicken Flatbread Pizza has quickly become a favorite. Priced at just $4.99, this pizza is a steal considering its quality. It weighs just over a pound and serves about four, according to its packaging. The toppings—a savory blend of white meat chicken, spinach, roasted tomatoes, and garlic—release an irresistible aroma as the pizza bakes.
The packaging suggests baking it directly on the middle oven rack at 400°F for 15 to 18 minutes. However, for those who prefer a crunchier crust, I recommend using a pizza stone. And if you’re using a powerful convection oven like mine, you might want to start checking on it a bit sooner, as it can be ready in about 10 to 12 minutes.
Once you take the pizza out of the oven, the roasted garlic and a hint of oregano are the first scents to greet you. The cheese is plentiful enough to be satisfyingly gooey without overwhelming the crust. The roasted tomatoes and garlic beautifully complement the spinach and chicken, adding layers of flavor.
Though hearty and filling, this pizza feels lighter than those loaded with meats like sausage or pepperoni. Its fresh taste makes it an ideal choice for a casual weeknight dinner, perhaps enjoyed outdoors if the weather is nice. It’s also perfect for those who have an outdoor pizza oven, as it would bake wonderfully in one.
The only downside is that in my household, this pizza realistically only feeds two—the eater being my son and anyone quick enough to grab a slice before he finishes it off. This means I need to stock up on a few more of these pizzas next time I visit ALDI.
