Chaske Spencer Joins AMC’s ‘Dark Winds’ For Season 4

New Cast Addition for AMC’s ‘Dark Winds’

EXCLUSIVE: Chaske Spencer, recognized for his roles in The Twilight Saga and Echo, is now part of the recurring ensemble in AMC’s acclaimed series Dark Winds as it enters its fourth season.

Production for the upcoming season, featuring eight one-hour episodes, is set to begin this month in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with the season premiere anticipated in 2026.

In the series, Spencer will take on the role of Sonny, a recruiter for a crime syndicate based in Los Angeles. Sonny is both charismatic and deadly, skillfully using his allure and threat to draw young Native American men from their reservations to the city, pushing them towards criminal activities.

The narrative of Dark Winds is set in 1971 and unfolds on a distant part of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley. The story centers around Lt. Joe Leaphorn of the Tribal Police, portrayed by Zahn McClarnon, who finds himself embroiled in a web of seemingly disconnected crimes. As Leaphorn delves deeper, he confronts his own troubled past. He is accompanied by his new deputy, Jim Chee, played by Kiowa Gordon, who has his own unresolved grievances from his days on the reservation. Together, they face off against malevolent forces, each other, and their internal conflicts in their quest for redemption.

Series Continuation and Developments

The third season of the series picks up six months following the events of the second season, with Leaphorn and Chee investigating the mysterious disappearance of two boys, hinted at by an abandoned bicycle and a bloodied patch of earth. Simultaneously, Bernadette Manuelito, played by Jessica Matten, adjusts to her new role with the Border Patrol 500 miles from her home, where she uncovers a sprawling conspiracy involving human and drug trafficking.

Spencer’s recent work includes his role in Teacup on Peacock, his appearance in Marvel/Disney+’s Echo, and his performance in The English for Amazon/BBC, which earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Leading Actor. He also appeared in the feature film Park Avenue alongside Fiona Shaw, which debuted at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. He is soon expected to appear in Wind River: Rising from Castle Rock. Spencer is represented by ATA Management, CESD Talent Agency, and Peikoff Mahan.
