‘Southern Charm’s Venita Aspen “Disappointed” In Craig Conover Amid Friendship Fallout, Says ‘Summer House’s Paige DeSorbo Reached Out

Billboard Women in Music 2025

Venita Aspen is currently feeling unsettled about her relationship with her “Southern Charm” co-star Craig Conover following his recent split from “Summer House” star Paige DeSorbo.

The end of the romance between Conover and DeSorbo has led to some uncomfortable dynamics within the cast of the Bravo network’s lineup. Aspen disclosed that she reached out to DeSorbo after hearing about the breakup to check in on her. However, when Conover appeared on “Watch What Happens Live,” he was asked by a viewer about Aspen siding with “Team Paige,” to which he responded that he would distance himself from Aspen.

Aspen was taken aback by Conover’s remarks during an Instagram live session with fellow cast members, expressing shock as it was her first time hearing Conover’s perspective on their interaction.

Expressing her disappointment to “Deadline,” Aspen remarked, “I don’t handle friendships that way, whether it’s with a new friend, an old friend, or someone I have had ups and downs with. I would have preferred if he acted more like the leader he claims to be, guiding his team rather than dismissing those who don’t align with his views as unworthy of friendship. We don’t even talk, so what else was I supposed to think?”

She added that a simple request from Conover would have sufficed: “It wouldn’t have been hard for him to say, ‘Hey, even though we work together, I’d appreciate it if you avoided discussing our relationship when asked.’ I would have completely understood that.”

Looking ahead, Aspen sees no clear way to mend fences with Conover unless he reaches out first.

“I think the initiative would have to come from him, because I’ve never closed the door on him or refused his friendship based on previous comments he’s made about me,” she explained. “I deal with the person in front of me. If he took the effort to arrange a meeting or even just send a text like most folks do, I’d greatly appreciate it. But I’m not going to be the one to reach out first, especially after he’s made his stance clear.”

Following Conover’s comments on the late-night Bravo show, DeSorbo contacted Aspen to express her support and make sure Aspen was okay, which Aspen found very considerate.

“She was clearly upset by what she saw and reached out to make sure I was handling everything alright, which was really thoughtful,” Aspen shared.

“Summer House” is broadcast on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET and “Southern Charm” airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
