Why I Adore Kroger’s Private Selection Beef Bulgogi

The beef, tenderized with a hint of pear purée, mimics the charred flavors of a grill. Yet, what really makes me a fan is the colorful array of vegetables served over the rice, reminiscent of another Korean classic, bibimbap. This dish also features a vibrant bowl of rice topped with various well-cooked vegetables.

This particular bowl includes onions, zucchini, carrots, and red bell peppers, all brought together with a sweet soy-based sauce that carries a hint of gentle spice.

My Method for Preparing Kroger’s Private Selection Beef Bulgogi

Being a microwave meal, I tend to stick closely to the cooking instructions, heating it with the cover on before stirring. I’m not fond of undercooked onions, so I often remove most of them at this stage. A quick second round in the microwave, and it’s ready to eat.

I like my food with a bit more kick, so I add some Assi hot pepper paste to enhance the dish’s spiciness. While I miss the variety of pickles you get at a restaurant, adding some kimchi or pickled radishes on the side elevates the meal further.

This bulgogi bowl isn’t going to replace my frequent visits to Korean BBQ joints, but it’s a satisfying stand-in that quells my cravings more effectively than other prepared dishes.
