In 2024, Christopher Winfrey, the CEO of Charter Communications, experienced a significant reduction in his total compensation compared to the previous year. Previously, he received option and stock awards that were worth approximately $83 million.
The latest proxy statement, which was filed with the SEC today, reveals that in 2024 Winfrey’s compensation included a base salary of $1.7 million, non-equity incentive plan compensation (like cash bonuses) totaling $3.75 million, and additional compensation (primarily for personal use of the company’s corporate jet) amounting to $296,500. This brings his total compensation for the year to $5.75 million, a steep decline from $89.1 million in 2023.
Winfrey took over as CEO in December 2022, succeeding Tom Rutledge, having previously served as COO.
