Kiki Shepard, renowned for her role as the longtime presenter of Showtime at the Apollo, tragically passed away today following a severe heart attack, as reported by TMZ, referencing her spokesperson. She was 74 years old.

Shepard gained fame as a co-host on Showtime at the Apollo from 1987 to 2002, sharing the stage with notable figures such as Sinbad and, for a period of seven years, Steve Harvey, at the iconic Apollo Theatre in Harlem.

In addition to her hosting career, Shepard also pursued acting, making appearances in popular TV series like A Different World, Baywatch, and NYPD Blue during her tenure on Showtime.

More recently, Shepard appeared in Everybody Hates Chris portraying herself, and had a role in Grey’s Anatomy.
