BREAKING NEWS: Digital innovation hub Drive beta, located in Berlin, has teamed up with Cologne’s production powerhouse Rosebank Entertainment.
Rosebank, a branch of the major German production and distribution conglomerate Beta Film, will acquire a minority ownership in Drive beta. Despite sharing a similar name, Drive beta operates independently from Beta Film. However, Drive’s founder and CEO, Hannes Jakobsen, recently initiated an AI-based joint venture known as Chapter41 in collaboration with Beta Film, as reported last November.
Under its portfolio, Rosebank manages a variety of production companies including Bantry Bay, Dreamtool, and Brot&Butter Entertainment, spanning drama and documentary content.

This collaboration between Drive and Rosebank will leverage Drive’s expertise in distribution and social media to enhance the reach of Rosebank’s diverse production companies. In return, Rosebank will provide Drive with substantial support in development and administrative services.
“Launching Drive beta was all about crafting distinctive, appealing media products,” Jakobsen explained. “This partnership with Rosebank not only builds on our existing achievements but also enhances our capacity to develop fresh projects and genres, bolstered by the structural support of the parent company.”
Jan Kromschröder and Stefan Oelze, Managing Partners at Rosebank, noted, “Drive beta’s focus on on-demand content and distribution ideally complements the creative array of Rosebank, creating a unique position within the Beta Group. We are excited about the potential synergies and the creative dialogue that will flourish between Drive beta and the Rosebank family.”
