‘Rise And Fall’ Becomes Amazon MX Player’s Biggest Ever Show

EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MX Player’s Rise and Fall has shattered all previous records to become the most popular program ever on the Indian streaming service.

The statistics from the platform indicate that the reality series, produced by Banijay Asia, has achieved unprecedented numbers in terms of viewership, social media activity, and audience engagement.

In a span of six weeks, the daily program garnered nearly half a billion views on the platform, surpassing other Amazon MX Player offerings like Aashram, Bhaukaal, and Sixer in the local reality streaming rankings.

The show featured stars such as John Abraham, Pankaj Tripathi, Riteish Deshmukh, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Reddy, Samay Raina, Elvish Yadav, Uorfi Javed, and Kusha Kapila. Mirroring the Channel 4 series that did not perform well in the UK, participants were divided into ‘Rulers’ who enjoyed a luxurious penthouse, and ‘Workers’ who lived in a basement and performed tasks to increase the prize money. All3Media International manages the format globally and arranged the licensing agreement in India.

The series started strong, with Ormax Media data ranking it just below the longstanding Bigg Boss during its initial weeks. It has continued to attract viewers, in a novel arrangement broadcasting on both Amazon MX Player and Sony Entertainment Television. Brands like Lux Cozi and McDowell’s came onboard, integrating their products into the show and creating interactive moments for the audience.

“With its dynamic contestant lineup, high-stakes challenges, and unpredictable gameplay, Rise and Fall has reshaped the landscape of large-scale reality storytelling in India. Our collaboration with Amazon MX Player was crucial in bringing this international format to viewers throughout India.”
