Must-Buy ALDI Bargain: Kids Can’t Resist This $2.69 Treat!

My son and his friends have made a ritual out of swapping snacks during lunch. It was during one of these exchanges that he first came across Little Bites, swapping some cookies for them with his buddy, Simon.

Little Bites are delightful tiny muffin packs, yet a 5-pack of Entenmann’s Little Bites can cost between $6 and $9 at different supermarkets, which is more than I’m willing to spend on a snack.

Being a budget-conscious ALDI shopper, I set out to find a similar product that wouldn’t drain my wallet. Luckily, I stumbled upon Baker’s Treat Mini Muffins at ALDI, a favorite shopping spot of mine.

The Appeal of ALDI’s Baker’s Treat Mini Muffins

My teenage son is a big fan of Baker’s Treat Mini Muffins, and I’m a fan of their affordability. Priced at $2.69 for a 5-pack, they cost significantly less than Little Bites. Considering my son’s ability to devour two to three packs in one go, these mini muffins allow us to keep up with his appetite without overspending.

These mini muffins come in three delicious varieties: blueberry, confetti cake, and chocolate chip. Blueberry is his top choice, with confetti cake or chocolate chip taking second place, depending on his mood. He also enjoys Baker’s Mini Brownies, which are popular for trading among his friends.

He recently conducted a taste test between the mini blueberry muffins from both ALDI and Entenmann’s and discovered they almost taste and smell identical, though they are slightly different in shape. Each pack contains exactly 1.65 ounces of muffins.

A single box usually lasts about a week if supplemented with other snacks. Without extras, though, I might need two boxes to cover a week of school lunches—especially when my son takes a pack to gymnastics or play rehearsals, and my husband enjoys a couple with his afternoon coffee.

Creative Ways to Enjoy ALDI Mini Muffins

The small size of these Mini Muffins (1.5 inches across by about .75 inches tall) makes them ideal for enhancing sweet treats or including in a brunch spread.

Here are some of my preferred uses: I like to toss a 20-pack into a bowl and serve them with a slab of butter during brunch gatherings. The chocolate chip muffins pair wonderfully with cannoli dip for parties, and the Mini Brownies are excellent as cake pop fillings. If I’m feeling particularly festive, I’ll dress up the blueberry muffins with blueberry pie filling or the confetti muffins with buttercream frosting and sprinkles. They look adorable on any dessert table, and it’s almost impossible to stop at one.

For the most part, these mini muffins are perfect for simple snacking straight from the package. My son is even planning to bring different flavors to school for a lunchtime taste test with his friends.
