Fox Hands Survival Competition ‘Extracted’ Midseason Premiere, Unveils Trailer

Fox is gearing up to introduce more competitors to the great outdoors.

The channel has officially given the green light to Extracted, a new survival reality show, setting its debut for the midseason and unveiling the first promotional trailer.

Scheduled to premiere on Monday, February 10 at 8 PM, a day following the Super Bowl broadcast on Fox, the show will kick-off right before Rescue: HI-Surf. Initially, Rescue: HI-Surf was slated for the post-Super Bowl slot but has since been replaced by The Floor.

The trailer, which you can watch above, showcases a series that, unlike Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, features everyday people instead of celebrity participants.

Exclusive Preview on Deadline

The series throws 12 ordinary contestants into the harsh Canadian wilderness where they must endure tough conditions, navigate dangerous terrains, and evade predatory wildlife.

Elsewhere, tucked away miles from the action, family members of the contestants observe their loved ones’ solo journeys through a 24/7 live feed at a remote command center. The family at headquarters holds significant sway over the contestant’s fate in the wild. They must decide if their family member has the mettle to endure the wilderness and potentially be the last one standing or choose to hit the “Extract” button, pulling their relative out of the contest. The show, Extracted, poses a compelling question: how much risk will families allow their loved ones to take for a shot at winning $250,000?

The show is a collaborative production effort by Sony Pictures Television’s B17 Entertainment, Sylvester Stallone’s Balboa Productions, and Fox Alternative Entertainment.

The series is helmed by Rob Buchta, who previously produced Running Wild with Bear Grylls. He serves as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Rhett Bachner, Brien Meagher, Sylvester Stallone, Braden Aftergood, Lauren Taylor Harding, and Dan Bree.
