I’m quite particular when it comes to yogurt. I adore a local brand that uses recyclable glass jars and another that boasts a creamy 9% milk-fat content. I usually don’t mind splurging on yogurt, but a tip from a coworker about the yogurt options at Trader Joe’s has somewhat disrupted my pricier yogurt routine. (That said, I’m not quite ready to abandon my premium favorites!)
On a typical visit to Trader Joe’s (my version of retail therapy), I tried their “& Cream” yogurt series. Priced at only $0.67 per cup, the savings were immediate. The first taste of their Meyer Lemon & Cream flavor, enjoyed right in my car before leaving the parking lot, was a revelation. How could such creamy luxury be so affordable? I quickly returned to grab another pack.

Exploring Trader Joe’s Yogurt Selection
I refer to them as “& Cream” yogurts because they’re available in four enticing flavors, each crafted with real cream: Vanilla & Cream, Raspberries & Cream, Blueberries & Cream, and the standout, Meyer Lemon & Cream. Each 4-ounce cup is perfectly portioned for a delightful snack or a light dessert.
The consistency is somewhere between traditional yogurt and crème fraîche. For less than 70 cents a cup (I can’t stop marveling at the price), these yogurts are like a bargain dose of joy. Like all of Trader Joe’s dairy items, these are produced using milk from cows never treated with rBST. They also use natural ingredients like turmeric for coloring instead of artificial dyes, which pleases the health-conscious part of me.

What Makes Trader Joe’s “& Cream” Yogurt Cups Special
They’re all fantastic, but the Meyer Lemon & Cream really stands out, offering a posh lemon curd experience without the hassle. The blend of tangy citrus and rich cream is simply enchanting. I often sprinkle some buttery graham cracker crumbs on top when I crave a dessert, reminiscent of cheesecake but healthier, with the added benefit of probiotics.
The variety in flavors adds to their appeal. Vanilla & Cream is perfect atop a warm berry crisp or fluffy pancakes, while the fruit varieties pair excellently with granola and fresh fruit. In the summer, I plan to partially freeze the Meyer Lemon cups for a refreshing frozen yogurt treat, less committing than a whole pint of ice cream but just as indulgent.
While I typically opt for full-fat plain yogurt, these won’t completely replace my high-end yogurt buys. However, they do offer a great alternative that helps keep my yogurt spending in check. Even at just $0.67 per cup, they truly satisfy my yogurt connoisseur standards.
