Bill Maher May Back Trump for Marijuana Move: ‘Finally, He Got Around to Me’!

As Donald Trump toys with the idea of reclassifying marijuana, it seems Bill Maher is transitioning from a casual supporter of the former president to a staunch advocate.

In the latest episode of Real Time, the comedian declared his official support for the MAGA movement. He highlighted Trump’s consideration of downgrading marijuana’s classification, which would align with President Biden’s initiative to treat it as a less harmful drug federally.

“I told ya so,” Maher proclaimed in his ‘New Rules’ segment. “I’ve been warning Democrats for years, you’re going to lose marijuana as your issue to Republicans.”

Maher joked, “What did you expect? He’s a pro at capturing votes from niche groups fervent about specific issues, nabbing a few percentage points here and there, until on election night, it’s ‘Y-M-C-A!’”

By the end of the show, Maher revealed himself as a voter focused on single issues, drawing a comparison to Black voters who supported Trump in 2020.

“Did he win the Black vote? Far from it, but he doubled his numbers from 2020, and in cities like Philadelphia, Detroit, and Milwaukee, that made all the difference. And now, he’s aiming to do the same with marijuana. He’s finally addressing my concerns,” Maher explained.

Following the Biden administration’s intentions to modify marijuana’s legal classification, Trump disclosed that his decision would come within the “next few weeks,” potentially providing a significant uplift to the marijuana sector. As a part-owner of the West Hollywood cannabis lounge, The Woods, Maher stands to gain from this progress.

Previously in April, Maher clarified he “hadn’t gone MAGA” after dining at the White House with Trump and their mutual acquaintance, Kid Rock.
