Quiche has always been one of my top picks for a comforting meal. However, the reality of preparing a delicious quiche from scratch is that it requires time and foresight—two resources that are often in short supply for me these days. That’s why I’ve become a fan of ALDI’s La Terra Fina Classic Lorraine Quiche.

- Why I Love It: Packed with bacon, chives, and cheese, this substantial quiche rivals the taste of homemade versions. The creamy filling, subtly seasoned with nutmeg and pepper, is particularly delightful.
Why I Love La Terra Fina Classic Lorraine Quiche
Quiche Lorraine is a quintessential quiche variety, and La Terra Fina’s rendition of this traditional French dish is commendable. Priced at $9.99, it is slightly more expensive compared to some other ALDI entrées, but you get a generous 23-ounce pie. Though the packaging suggests it contains five servings, the richness and size of the quiche could easily extend to six servings.
The quiche offers three suggested preparation methods: baking it whole in the oven at 375°F for about 20 minutes, heating sliced portions in the microwave for approximately 5 minutes, or air frying slices for 10 minutes at 350°F.
While I’m a big advocate for the air fryer for many recipes, slicing and then cooking this particular quiche isn’t my recommended method. The optimal way to enjoy this enticing dish is definitely by baking it in a traditional oven.
When baked, the aroma of bacon fills the kitchen, the cheese atop the cage-free egg whites melts perfectly, and the quiche brims with bacon goodness. It’s also dotted with fresh chives, and the presentation post-oven is as impressive as its smell. Each bite offers a creamy texture with a balance of nutmeg, pepper, chives, and the irresistible bacon. The pastry crust is flaky and buttery, complementing the egg filling superbly.
This quiche is not only perfect for a brunch spread, but it also transforms a weekday breakfast into something special. Placed in a stylish ceramic pie dish, it looks as though you’ve spent the morning baking. It’s also an excellent choice for a breakfast-for-dinner scenario, especially paired with some soup or salad.
In fact, I recently served it for dinner when my parents visited, and it was a hit with both of them. It’s definitely one of the best-kept secrets at ALDI.
