Local Government minister July Moyo told NewsDay on Friday that there was no such a post as Ndebele king in the Constitution.
The comment comes after the recent coronation of South Africa-based Bulelani Lobengula as the new Ndebele king by a faction of the Khumalo family after they defied a High Court order barring the event. However, Minister Moyo said Government is not aware of a new Ndebele king. Said Moyo:
Government is not aware that there is now a new Ndebele king. In any case, the constitution of Zimbabwe does not provide for such a structure. We will not recognise that.
