A Harare woman was yesterday sentenced to seven months in prison after she was found guilty for unlawful entry.

Nokhuthula Sithole pleaded guilty when she appeared before Harare magistrate Victoria Mashamba charged with unlawful entry.

Allegations are that on January 28 this year Nokhuthula unlawfully entered Charlotee Sotwa’s premise by opening an unlocked door and stealing a Hurricane smart phone.

At around 11:00am, Sotwa left her door unlocked with her Hurricane smart phone on a charger inside her house.

Nokhuthula got to Sotwa’s house where she opened the door, entered, stole a Hurricane smart phone, and went away.

On return, Sotwa discovered the theft and reported the matter to police leading to Nokhuthula’s arrest.

However, the phone valued at $810 could not be recovered.

Nokhuthula allegedly sold the stolen phone to third party who could not be located.

She was also ordered to pay $810 to Sotwa before February 28.
