Benyu finds new home

Zimbabwe international midfielder Kundai Benyu has joined English National League side Wealdstone.

Benyu, who is reported to be on coach Zdravko Logarusic’s squad to face Malawi, joined the fifth tier side from Celtic.

 The club said in statement:

“Wealdstone  Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Zimbabwe international midfielder Kundai Benyu.

“The 22-year-old’s signing is subject to international clearance after making three appearances for the Stones during pre-season.

“Benyu has earned two caps for the Zimbabwe national team and was last on contract at Scottish champions Celtic.

 “The midfielder began in the Ipswich Town academy and joined Aldershot Town on loan in the National League where he scored five goals in 22 league appearances.”

On his new home, Benyu said: “I’m looking forward to starting, I’ve known about Wealdstone for a while so hopefully I can kick on and get going.”
